Monzem LC Tablet is a combined antihistamine and leukotriene receptor antagonist, comprising levocetirizine 5mg and montelukast 10mg per tablet. This medication is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including perennial and seasonal patterns, and for the prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, exhibits potent and selective H1-receptor antagonist properties, effectively alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and hives. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the actions of cysteinyl leukotrienes, which are potent mediators of inflammation and constriction in the airways, thereby preventing bronchospasm and airway constriction. Monzem LC Tablet is administered orally once daily and is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the tablet. The most common adverse effects include headache, nasopharyngitis, and sinusitis.
