Montymo LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is a combination medication indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and/or chronic idiopathic urticaria. Each tablet contains 5mg of levocetirizine, an H1 receptor antagonist, and 10mg of montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Levocetirizine relieves symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and congestion, while montelukast inhibits the production of leukotriene D4, a potent bronchoconstrictor, thereby reducing inflammation and constriction of airways. The combination therapy provides fast and sustained relief from symptoms, with a rapid onset of action within 1-2 hours. The tablet is suitable for patients aged 12 years and above, including those with cardiovascular risk factors. The recommended dose is one tablet once daily, taken orally. Montymo LC 5mg/10mg Tablet may interact with other medications, and patients should consult their doctor before starting treatment, especially those with kidney or liver impairment, or with a history of depression or psychiatric disorders.
