Montina-L Tablet is a fixed-dose combination medication containing 5mg of levocetirizine, a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, and 10mg of montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria, and also provides relief from symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and sneezing. Montina-L Tablet works by blocking the action of histamine and leukotrienes, two key mediators of allergic reactions, thereby reducing symptoms such as pruritus, erythema, and edema. The tablet is available in a single strength and should be taken once daily, with or without food. The most common adverse effects include headache, nausea, and diarrhea, although these are generally mild and transient. Montina-L Tablet is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of its components, and caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic impairment.
