Montidak Tablet is a combination medication containing Levocetirizine (5mg) and Montelukast (10mg), designed to provide relief from symptoms of allergies and asthma. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, exhibits rapid and potent activity against histamine-induced responses, effectively alleviating symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and rhinitis. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the action of leukotrienes, a group of potent chemical mediators involved in bronchoconstriction and inflammation, thereby reducing symptoms of asthma, such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. The combination of these two agents provides a comprehensive approach to managing allergic rhinitis and asthma, offering a broader range of therapeutic benefits. Montidak Tablet is indicated for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, and asthma, and is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and above. It is administered orally, once daily, and can be taken with or without food.
