Monticope-Kid Tablet DT is a fixed-dose combination medication containing levocetirizine 2.5mg and montelukast 4mg, indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis in pediatric patients aged 6-11 years. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, blocks the H1 receptor, thereby reducing the effects of histamine on the body. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the production of leukotrienes, which are potent bronchoconstrictors. The combination of these two agents provides effective relief from symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, and congestion. Monticope-Kid Tablet DT is administered once daily and should be taken with or without food. The recommended dose is 1 tablet per day. The medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components. As with all medications, Monticope-Kid Tablet DT may cause side effects, including headache, fatigue, and stomachache, although these are generally mild and transient.
