Medical applications
Montewin LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is a fixed-dose combination medication used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis and asthma. It contains two active ingredients: levocetirizine (5mg), a histamine H1 receptor antagonist, and montelukast (10mg), a leukotriene receptor antagonist. Levocetirizine exhibits antihistaminic and sedative properties, effectively alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, while montelukast inhibits the production of leukotrienes, potent chemical mediators of allergic reactions, thereby reducing bronchospasm and airway constriction. The combination provides rapid and sustained relief from allergic rhinitis and mild asthma symptoms, including nasal congestion, sinusitis, and wheezing. This once-daily tablet is suitable for adults and children aged 6 years and above. The recommended dose is one tablet per day, taken orally with a glass of water. In patients with mild asthma, Montewin LC may be used concomitantly with inhaled corticosteroids.
