Monteshine F 10mg/120mg Tablet is a combination medication containing montelukast and fexofenadine. Montelukast, an leukotriene receptor antagonist, is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis and asthma. It works by blocking the action of leukotrienes, which are chemical messengers that cause bronchospasm and mucus production. Fexofenadine, an antihistamine, is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy, watery eyes. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical released during allergic reactions. This combination product is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and seasonal allergic rhinitis. It is also used to relieve symptoms of asthma in patients with or without allergic rhinitis. The tablets are available in a once-daily dose and are taken orally. Common side effects include headache, sore throat, and stomach upset. Serious side effects are rare but may include hypersensitivity reactions, angioedema, and gastrointestinal perforation.
