Montek LC Kid Syrup is a pediatric oral solution indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria in children aged 2-11 years. It contains a fixed-dose combination of levocetirizine and montelukast, two distinct pharmacological agents that synergistically work together to provide comprehensive relief. Levocetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine, targets histamine receptors, while montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the effects of leukotrienes, potent inflammatory mediators. The combination of these agents provides rapid and sustained relief from symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, hives, and pruritus. Montek LC Kid Syrup is administered orally, 5mL once daily, and is available in a strawberry flavor. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either levocetirizine or montelukast, and should be used with caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
