Montecip LC Junior Syrup is a combination medicine indicated for the symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis and urticaria in children and adolescents aged 6 to 11 years. Each 5 mL dose contains levocetirizine dihydrochloride 2.5 mg and montelukast sodium 4 mg. The syrup is a clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic odor. The product is administered orally, 1 teaspoon (5 mL) twice daily. The medication works by inhibiting the release of histamine from mast cells and antagonizing the action of leukotrienes, thereby providing relief from symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, congestion, itchy eyes, and skin rashes. Montecip LC Junior Syrup is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine or montelukast, and in children with a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the product. As with any medication, patients should be monitored for potential side effects, including headache, stomach pain, and fever.
