Monteceum LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is a fixed-dose combination product containing levocetirizine (5mg) and montelukast (10mg). This tablet is indicated for the treatment of chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) in adult patients. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells, thereby reducing pruritus, erythema, and edema. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, blocks the action of cysteinyl leukotrienes, which are potent mediators of allergic reactions. The combination of these two agents provides a synergistic effect in reducing the symptoms of CSU. Monteceum LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is taken once daily, at the same time each day, for a minimum of 6 weeks. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine or montelukast. Common adverse reactions include headache, fatigue, and nausea. Monteceum LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is available in a tablet form and should be swallowed whole with a glass of water.
