This orally administered tablet is indicated for the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria and allergic rhinitis. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, effectively alleviates symptoms of urticaria, such as pruritus, erythema, and edema. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, addresses the root cause of allergic rhinitis by inhibiting the release of leukotrienes, which contribute to symptoms like nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and ocular itching. The combined formulation provides comprehensive relief from both allergic and inflammatory symptoms. The recommended adult dose is one tablet once daily, taken in the evening. Montalo-LC Tablet is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to either levocetirizine or montelukast.
