Montair Plus Tablet is a fixed-dose combination medication containing bambuterol 10mg and montelukast 10mg. It is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma in adults. Bambuterol, a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor, provides sustained bronchodilation and improves lung function, while montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the effects of cysteinyl leukotrienes, which are involved in the pathophysiology of asthma. The combination of these two agents provides a synergistic effect, offering improved bronchodilation, reduced airway inflammation, and enhanced patient-reported outcomes. Montair Plus Tablet is administered orally once daily, with the recommended dose being one tablet. The most common adverse reactions reported include headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to either bambuterol or montelukast, and patients with a history of severe allergic reactions or angioedema should be closely monitored. Montair Plus Tablet is not recommended for use in children under the age of 18 years or in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
