Monoliv-UD Tablet is a prescription medication containing Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA) 300mg, indicated for the treatment of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). UDCA is a bile acid that is naturally present in the liver and is involved in the metabolism of cholesterol and the formation of bile. The exact mechanism of action of Monoliv-UD in PBC and PSC is not fully understood, but it is believed to exert its therapeutic effects by modulating the immune response and promoting the formation of bile.

Monoliv-UD has been shown to improve liver function and reduce the risk of complications in patients with PBC and PSC. The most common adverse reactions to Monoliv-UD include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Rare but serious reactions include cholestasis, jaundice, and pancreatitis. Monoliv-UD should be used with caution in patients with a history of kidney disease or liver disease.
The recommended dose is 300mg taken orally three times daily.
