Monoflu 800 Tablet is a prescription medication indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated influenza, also known as flu, in adults. Each tablet contains 800mg of favipiravir, a pyrazine compound with antiviral activity against influenza viruses. The medication works by selectively inhibiting the replication of influenza A and B viruses, thereby reducing the viral load and alleviating symptoms. Monoflu 800 Tablet is not intended for the treatment of influenza hospitalized patients, children, or patients with severe underlying medical conditions. The recommended dose is one tablet every 12 hours for a maximum duration of five days. Patients with a history of renal impairment should have their creatinine clearance monitored closely, as favipiravir may increase the risk of renal failure. Common adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, and headache, which are generally mild and transient. Monoflu 800 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to favipiravir or other components of the medication.
