Mon LC 5mg/10mg Tablet is a combined product containing Levocetirizine (5mg) and Montelukast (10mg) used in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and asthma. Levocetirizine, an antihistamine, exhibits potent histamine H1-receptor antagonism, providing relief from symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, inhibits the action of leukotriene D4, a potent bronchoconstrictor, thereby reducing inflammation and bronchospasm in the airways. The combination of these two agents offers synergistic benefits in alleviating the clinical manifestations of allergic disorders, including nasal congestion, sinus pressure, and cough. The tablet is administered orally once daily, with the recommended dose being one tablet. The treatment is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment and should be used with caution in those with a history of liver disease. Adverse effects, although uncommon, may include headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal disturbances.
