Mixtuss-XT Syrup is a combination cough syrup containing Ambroxol, Guaifenesin, Menthol, and Terbutaline. This syrup is indicated for the treatment of cough, chest congestion, and bronchial spasm associated with bronchitis, pneumonia, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The Ambroxol component acts as a mucolytic agent, helping to break down thick mucus and facilitate its removal from the airways. Guaifenesin, a expectorant, helps to thin and loosen mucus, making it easier to cough up. Menthol provides a topical anesthetic effect, providing temporary relief from cough and sore throat. Terbutaline, a beta-2 agonist, helps to relax the airway muscles, reducing bronchial spasm and constriction. The syrup is available in a sweet, fruity flavor and is intended for oral administration. The recommended dose is 10-20 mL every 4-6 hours, not to exceed 40 mL in 24 hours.
