This potentiated aqueous solution contains 4% w/v of chlorhexidine gluconate, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that exhibits rapid and long-lasting antimicrobial activity against a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores. Microshield 4% Surgical Handwash is effective against a variety of organisms, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus (VRE), and Clostridium difficile. Its antimicrobial properties are maintained even in the presence of organic matter and are not affected by washing with soap and water.
