Micomos Cream is a topical antifungal cream containing 2% w/w miconazole, indicated for the treatment of various fungal infections of the skin, including ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock's itch. It is also effective in treating fungal infections of the scalp, nails, and other hairy areas of the body. The cream is applied topically to the affected area, usually two to three times daily, depending on the severity of the infection. Miconazole, the active ingredient, works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting fungal cell growth and multiplication. The cream is suitable for adults and children over two years of age, and is available in a variety of sizes to accommodate individual needs. Patients should be advised to continue treatment for the full duration of therapy, even if symptoms appear to have cleared, to ensure complete eradication of the infection.
