Micafed Injection is a sterile, lyophilized powder for reconstitution with sterile water, containing micafungin, a triazole antifungal agent. The product is indicated for the treatment of invasive aspergillosis, candidemia, acute mucormycosis, and other serious fungal infections in patients who are refractory to or intolerant of other therapies. The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight, administered every 24 hours.

The product is supplied in single-use vials containing 50 mg of micafungin. Reconstitution with sterile water should be done according to the instructions provided. After reconstitution, the product should be administered intravenously over at least 30 minutes. Close monitoring of renal function and electrolytes is recommended during treatment with Micafed Injection. The most common adverse reactions include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and pyrexia.
Hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylaxis, have also been reported. The product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to micafungin or other triazole antifungal agents.
