Metlin 50 Tablet SR is formulated as a sustained-release tablet to provide prolonged therapeutic effects and improve patient compliance by maintaining stable plasma drug concentrations. It is indicated for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and spinal cord injury, as well as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures in adults.
Additionally, it may be prescribed for generalized anxiety disorder where appropriate. The sustained-release formulation allows for once or twice-daily dosing, minimizing fluctuations in drug levels and reducing the risk of adverse effects such as dizziness, somnolence, and peripheral edema. Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal impairment. Metlin 50 Tablet SR should be used under medical supervision, with careful monitoring for efficacy and potential side effects, and should not be abruptly discontinued to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
