Additionally, Metlin 25 is used as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures in adults and for generalized anxiety disorder in some regions. Pregabalin acts by binding to the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby modulating calcium influx and reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters such as glutamate, norepinephrine, and substance P. This mechanism contributes to its analgesic, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects. The 25 mg dosage is typically employed as an initial dose or for dose titration to minimize adverse effects, which may include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, and peripheral edema.
