Luliconazole exerts its antifungal effect by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, which is essential for ergosterol synthesis, a critical component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability and ultimately fungal cell death. Metilul Cream is applied once daily to the affected area and surrounding skin after cleansing and drying, typically for a duration of 2 to 4 weeks depending on the infection type and severity. It is well tolerated with minimal adverse effects, which may include mild local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema at the application site. Use of Metilul Cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any cream excipients. It is not intended for systemic fungal infections or use on mucous membranes.
