This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and fungal skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and superficial mycoses where secondary fungal infections are present or suspected. Beclometasone exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Clotrimazole acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death. Metibet-C Lotion is applied topically to the affected area, typically twice daily, ensuring the skin is clean and dry before application. Treatment duration should be limited to the shortest period necessary to control symptoms, generally not exceeding two weeks, to minimize potential corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, or systemic absorption. Caution is advised in patients with hypersensitivity to any component, and the product should be avoided on broken or ulcerated skin. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under medical supervision.
