Melalite 15 Cream is a topical formulation containing Hydroquinone 2% w/w, Octinoxate 9% w/w, and Benzophenone 2.5% w/w, indicated primarily for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma, freckles, and age spots. Hydroquinone acts as a depigmenting agent by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, thereby reducing melanin synthesis in the skin. Octinoxate and Benzophenone serve as broad-spectrum ultraviolet (UV) filters, providing photoprotection against UVA and UVB rays, which helps prevent further pigmentation and photodamage during treatment. This combination enhances the efficacy of skin lightening while minimizing the risk of UV-induced pigmentation exacerbation. Melalite 15 Cream is applied topically, typically once or twice daily, to the affected areas after cleansing. Patients should be advised to avoid excessive sun exposure and use additional sun protection measures during therapy. Common adverse effects may include mild irritation, redness, or dryness at the application site. Use of this product should be under medical supervision, especially in individuals with sensitive skin or a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components.
