Melacare Cream is a topical formulation containing Hydroquinone (2% w/w), Mometasone Furoate (0.1% w/w), and Tretinoin (0.025% w/w), designed for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma, freckles, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone acts as a skin-lightening agent by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme critical in melanin synthesis, thereby reducing pigmentation. Mometasone Furoate, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, helping to reduce erythema, swelling, and irritation associated with pigmentary disorders. Tretinoin, a retinoid derivative of vitamin A, promotes epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of Hydroquinone, facilitating the removal of pigmented keratinocytes. The combination of these active ingredients offers a synergistic effect for effective depigmentation and skin rejuvenation. Melacare Cream should be applied once daily, preferably at night, to clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Use under medical supervision is essential due to the potential for corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin thinning and irritation, as well as tretinoin-induced photosensitivity. Patients are advised to use sunscreen during the day to prevent further pigmentation. This product is contraindicated in pregnancy, lactation, and in individuals with hypersensitivity to any component.
