Meftal-Spas DS Tablet

Mefenamic Acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to decreased prostaglandin synthesis. This dual-action formulation is particularly beneficial in managing conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, dysmenorrhea, and other painful spasmodic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.

Meftal-Spas DS is indicated for symptomatic relief of abdominal pain, cramps, and inflammation. It should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with a history of gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding disorders, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or anticholinergic drugs. Common side effects may include dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, and gastrointestinal discomfort. Caution is advised in pregnant or lactating women and those with renal or hepatic impairment.
