Maxstine Tablet contains Bilastine 20 mg, a second-generation antihistamine indicated for the symptomatic treatment of allergic conditions such as seasonal allergic rhinitis, perennial allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria. Bilastine, a selective H1 receptor antagonist, effectively inhibits the action of histamine, thereby alleviating symptoms including sneezing, nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, itchy eyes, and urticarial wheals and pruritus.

Maxstine exhibits minimal penetration of the blood-brain barrier, resulting in a low incidence of sedation and central nervous system adverse effects compared to first-generation antihistamines. The recommended dosage for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and above is one tablet (20 mg) once daily, administered orally with water, preferably on an empty stomach to optimize absorption.
Maxstine has a favorable safety profile, with common adverse effects being headache, somnolence, and gastrointestinal disturbances, which are generally mild and transient. Caution is advised in patients with severe renal impairment, and concomitant use with P-glycoprotein inhibitors may require monitoring. Maxstine should be used under medical supervision, especially in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
