It is indicated for the management of various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including allergic reactions, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, and certain dermatologic disorders. Methylprednisolone exerts its therapeutic effects by modulating the immune response and inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and tissue damage.

The tablet formulation allows for oral administration, facilitating systemic absorption and rapid onset of action. Dosage and duration of therapy should be individualized based on the severity of the condition and patient response, with careful monitoring to minimize potential adverse effects such as hyperglycemia, hypertension, osteoporosis, and increased susceptibility to infections.
Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided to prevent adrenal insufficiency; tapering the dose gradually under medical supervision is recommended. Macpred 4 Tablet is contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity to corticosteroids. Caution is advised in patients with diabetes, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, and psychiatric disorders.
