Luliclin Cream contains luliconazole 1% w/w, a topical antifungal agent belonging to the imidazole class, indicated for the treatment of superficial fungal infections of the skin. Luliconazole exhibits broad-spectrum antifungal activity by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting membrane integrity and leading to fungal cell death. This cream is primarily prescribed for dermatophytic infections such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis, as well as for candidal infections of the skin. Luliclin Cream demonstrates potent efficacy against dermatophytes including Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, as well as Candida albicans. The topical formulation allows targeted delivery with minimal systemic absorption, reducing the risk of systemic side effects. It is applied once daily to the affected area after cleansing and drying the skin, typically for a duration of 2 to 4 weeks depending on the severity and clinical response. Common adverse effects are mild and may include local irritation, burning sensation, or erythema at the application site. Luliclin Cream should be used with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to luliconazole or any formulation excipients. It is contraindicated in mucosal fungal infections and should not be applied to open wounds or broken skin.
