Lozivate 3S Ointment is a topical formulation containing Clobetasol propionate 0.05% w/w, a potent corticosteroid, combined with Salicylic Acid 3% w/w, a keratolytic agent. This combination is indicated for the management of various inflammatory and hyperkeratotic dermatoses such as psoriasis, eczema, and lichen planus. Clobetasol exerts strong anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antipruritic effects by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators, thereby reducing erythema, edema, and itching. Salicylic Acid facilitates the removal of scales and promotes the penetration of Clobetasol by softening and exfoliating the stratum corneum. Lozivate 3S Ointment is typically applied in a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily, depending on the severity and clinical response. Caution is advised to avoid prolonged use, especially on large body surface areas, to minimize the risk of systemic absorption and corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. It is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or bacterial skin infections unless appropriate antimicrobial therapy is concurrently administered. Patients should follow medical guidance closely and report any signs of irritation or hypersensitivity.
