Miconazole (2% w/w) + Clobetasone (0.05% w/w)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Miconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, compromising fungal cell membrane integrity and leading to cell death.
Medical applications
Lozee M Cream is a topical formulation containing Clobetasone propionate (0.05% w/w), a moderately potent corticosteroid, combined with Miconazole nitrate (2% w/w), an antifungal agent. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses complicated by or associated with fungal infections, such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis with secondary fungal involvement. Clobetasone propionate exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and itching. Miconazole nitrate acts by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death. Lozee M Cream is applied topically to the affected area, usually twice daily, and should be used for the shortest duration necessary to achieve therapeutic goals to minimize potential corticosteroid-related side effects. It is contraindicated in viral infections, tuberculosis, and hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Caution is advised in long-term use or application over large body areas, especially in pediatric and elderly patients. Adverse effects may include local irritation, burning sensation, or secondary infections. Patients should avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
How to use Lozee M Cream This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
