Lovax 300 Tablet contains Oxcarbazepine 300 mg, an antiepileptic medication primarily indicated for the treatment of partial seizures, with or without secondary generalization, in adults and children aged 4 years and above. Oxcarbazepine acts by stabilizing hyperexcited neuronal membranes, inhibiting repetitive neuronal firing, and reducing the propagation of seizure activity through blockade of voltage-sensitive sodium channels.

Lovax 300 is also utilized as adjunctive therapy in managing epilepsy and may be prescribed off-label for certain mood disorders such as bipolar disorder. The tablet should be administered orally, with dosing individualized based on patient response and tolerability, typically initiated at a low dose and gradually titrated. Common adverse effects include dizziness, somnolence, headache, nausea, and hyponatremia; therefore, periodic monitoring of serum sodium levels is recommended, especially in elderly patients or those on concomitant diuretics.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, and potential drug interactions should be assessed prior to initiation. Lovax 300 should be used under strict medical supervision, with adherence to prescribed dosage to minimize the risk of adverse events and optimize therapeutic outcomes in seizure control.
