Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that prevents leukotriene-mediated bronchoconstriction, inflammation, and mucus production, providing additional relief in conditions like allergic rhinitis and asthma. The synergistic action of these two agents offers comprehensive control of allergic symptoms, improving patient comfort and quality of life. Lov-M Syrup is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, and as adjunct therapy in asthma management in pediatric and adult patients.
It is generally well tolerated; however, patients should be monitored for potential side effects including headache, somnolence, gastrointestinal disturbances, and rare neuropsychiatric events.
