Lopamide Tablet contains Loperamide 2mg, an antidiarrheal agent used to manage acute and chronic diarrhea. Loperamide acts on the μ-opioid receptors in the intestinal wall, reducing gastrointestinal motility and increasing the absorption of electrolytes and water, thereby decreasing stool frequency and improving stool consistency. It is indicated for symptomatic relief of non-infectious diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea and diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome. Lopamide is also used to reduce the volume of discharge in patients with ileostomies. The tablet formulation allows for convenient oral administration with rapid onset of action.
