Lopamide Tablet contains Loperamide 2mg, an antidiarrheal agent used to manage acute and chronic diarrhea. It is indicated for symptomatic relief of non-infectious diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea and diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome.

Lopamide is also used to reduce the volume of discharge in patients with ileostomies. The tablet formulation allows for convenient oral administration with rapid onset of action. Dosage should be individualized based on the severity of symptoms, with careful adherence to recommended guidelines to avoid potential adverse effects such as constipation or toxic megacolon, especially in cases of infectious diarrhea.
Lopamide is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Loperamide, acute dysentery, pseudomembranous colitis, and bacterial enterocolitis caused by invasive organisms. Caution is advised in pediatric and elderly populations. Common side effects may include dizziness, dry mouth, and abdominal discomfort. Lopamide Tablet should be used under medical supervision, particularly in patients with underlying gastrointestinal conditions or when used concomitantly with other medications.
