Longifene-DS Tablet contains Buclizine 50mg, an antihistaminic agent with antiemetic and antivertigo properties. It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness, vertigo, and other vestibular disorders. Buclizine acts by blocking H1 histamine receptors in the central nervous system, thereby reducing the stimulation of the vomiting center and alleviating symptoms of motion-induced nausea and vomiting. Additionally, it possesses mild anticholinergic effects that contribute to its antivertigo action. Longifene-DS is well absorbed orally, with an onset of action typically within 1 hour, and its effects can last for several hours. The medication is generally well tolerated; however, patients may experience side effects such as drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, or gastrointestinal disturbances. It should be used with caution in individuals with glaucoma, urinary retention, or prostatic hypertrophy. Longifene-DS Tablet is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Buclizine or other antihistamines.
