Longifene-DS Syrup contains Buclizine at a concentration of 12mg per 5ml and is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and motion sickness. Buclizine is an antihistaminic agent with anticholinergic properties that exert antiemetic effects by blocking histamine H1 receptors in the central nervous system, thereby reducing vestibular stimulation and suppressing the vomiting center in the medulla. This medication is commonly used in conditions such as vertigo, labyrinthitis, and other vestibular disorders, as well as for prophylaxis against motion sickness. Longifene-DS Syrup is suitable for pediatric and adult patients, with dosing adjusted according to age and severity of symptoms. It is generally well tolerated; however, side effects may include drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, and occasional gastrointestinal disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with glaucoma, peptic ulcer, or urinary retention, and it should be used under medical supervision in pregnant or lactating women. Patients are advised to avoid activities requiring mental alertness until the effects of the medication are known. Longifene-DS Syrup should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture, and kept out of reach of children.
