Lomela Lite Cream is a topical dermatological formulation containing Hydroquinone (2% w/w), Tretinoin (0.025% w/w), and Hydrocortisone (0.5% w/w), designed for the treatment of hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and other pigmentary abnormalities. Hydroquinone acts as a potent skin-lightening agent by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, thereby reducing melanin synthesis and promoting gradual lightening of hyperpigmented areas. Tretinoin, a retinoid derivative, facilitates increased epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone, contributing to improved efficacy in pigment reduction while also promoting collagen synthesis and skin renewal. Hydrocortisone, a mild corticosteroid, is included to mitigate inflammation, erythema, and irritation commonly associated with hydroquinone and tretinoin therapy, thereby improving patient tolerability. Lomela Lite Cream should be applied once daily, preferably at night, to clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes. It is essential to use adequate sun protection during treatment to prevent UV-induced pigmentation and photosensitivity reactions. This combination therapy should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with sensitive skin or those prone to corticosteroid-related side effects.
