Locula 30% Eye Drop contains Sulphacetamide 30% w/v, a sulfonamide antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye. Sulphacetamide acts by inhibiting bacterial dihydropteroate synthase, thereby interfering with folic acid synthesis essential for bacterial growth and replication. This ophthalmic preparation is primarily used in the management of conjunctivitis, keratitis, and other superficial ocular infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria.

Locula 30% Eye Drop is formulated to provide effective antimicrobial activity while minimizing ocular irritation. It is typically administered as one or two drops into the affected eye(s) every 2 to 3 hours initially, with the frequency reduced as clinical improvement occurs. Patients should be advised to avoid contamination of the dropper tip and to discontinue use if hypersensitivity or severe irritation develops.
Caution is warranted in patients with known sulfonamide allergy. The product is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or mycobacterial ocular infections.
