Miconazole (2% w/w) + Clobetasol (0.05% w/w)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Miconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, compromising fungal cell membrane integrity and leading to cell death.
Clobetasol binds to glucocorticoid receptors, inhibiting the transcription of pro-inflammatory genes and reducing inflammation.
Medical applications
Lobate M Cream is a topical formulation combining Clobetasol propionate (0.05% w/w), a potent corticosteroid, with Miconazole nitrate (2% w/w), an effective antifungal agent. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses complicated by fungal infections, such as tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and candidiasis with associated inflammation and pruritus. Clobetasol exerts strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the immune response and reducing cytokine production, thereby alleviating redness, swelling, and itching. Miconazole acts by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity, leading to fungal cell death. The cream base facilitates rapid absorption and localized action with minimal systemic exposure. Lobate M Cream should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area twice daily or as directed by a healthcare professional. Treatment duration should be limited to the shortest period necessary to avoid potential corticosteroid-related adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, or hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. Contraindications include hypersensitivity to any component and viral infections of the skin. Use with caution in pediatric and elderly patients. Regular monitoring is advised to assess therapeutic response and minimize side effects.
How to use Lobate M Cream This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
