Neomycin (0.5% w/w) + Clobetasol (0.05% w/w)
Active composition
+1 more active ingredient
Neomycin binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis and leading to bacterial cell death.
Clobetasol binds to glucocorticoid receptors, inhibiting the transcription of pro-inflammatory genes and reducing inflammation.
Medical applications
Lobate GN Skin Cream is a topical formulation containing Clobetasol propionate (0.05% w/w), a potent corticosteroid, combined with Neomycin sulfate (0.5% w/w), an aminoglycoside antibiotic. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses complicated by or at risk of secondary bacterial infections. Clobetasol exerts strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses in the skin. Neomycin provides broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against gram-positive and some gram-negative organisms by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. Lobate GN Skin Cream is particularly effective in managing conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis where bacterial superinfection is present or suspected. The cream should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional. Prolonged use or application over large surface areas should be avoided to minimize the risk of systemic absorption and adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, or antibiotic resistance. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component and should not be used on viral, fungal, or tuberculosis skin infections without appropriate medical supervision.
How to use Lobate GN Cream This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.
