By competitively inhibiting peripheral H1 receptors, Liv-Cet 5 Tablet alleviates symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin rashes. It is well-tolerated with minimal sedative effects compared to first-generation antihistamines, making it suitable for daytime use. The recommended adult dose is one tablet daily, preferably in the evening, with dosage adjustments required in patients with renal impairment.
Common adverse effects may include mild drowsiness, dry mouth, and fatigue, though these are generally transient. Liv-Cet 5 Tablet should be used under medical supervision, especially in patients with pre-existing conditions or those taking concomitant medications to avoid potential interactions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Levocetirizine or Cetirizine.
