Liponorm-Asp Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Atorvastatin 10 mg and Aspirin 75 mg, designed for the management of cardiovascular risk factors. Atorvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and total cholesterol levels, thereby reducing the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Aspirin, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with antiplatelet properties, inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, leading to decreased thromboxane A2 production and reduced platelet aggregation. The synergistic action of these two agents helps in the prevention of myocardial infarction, stroke, and other thromboembolic events in patients with established cardiovascular disease or those at high risk. Liponorm-Asp is indicated for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with dyslipidemia and a history of ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, or peripheral arterial disease. The combination therapy improves patient compliance by reducing pill burden. It should be used under medical supervision, with periodic monitoring of lipid profiles, liver function tests, and bleeding parameters. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, bleeding disorders, or those on concomitant anticoagulant therapy.
