Lipitas F 160mg/20mg Tablet is a combination lipid-lowering agent containing Fenofibrate 160mg and Rosuvastatin 20mg, indicated for the management of dyslipidemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. Fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative, primarily reduces triglyceride levels and increases high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα), which enhances lipolysis and elimination of triglyceride-rich particles. Rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, decreases low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby reducing total cholesterol and LDL-C levels. The combination therapy is beneficial for patients who require simultaneous reduction of elevated LDL-C and triglycerides, and/or increase in HDL-C, particularly in cases where monotherapy has proven insufficient. Lipitas F is indicated in adults with primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and patients at high cardiovascular risk. Treatment should be accompanied by lifestyle modifications including diet, exercise, and weight control. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic or renal impairment, and monitoring of liver enzymes and creatine kinase is recommended to detect potential adverse effects such as myopathy or hepatotoxicity.
