Lipitab Gold 75mg/10mg/75mg Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Aspirin (75mg), Atorvastatin (10mg), and Clopidogrel (75mg), designed for the management and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Aspirin, an antiplatelet agent, inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing thromboxane A2 synthesis and preventing platelet aggregation. Atorvastatin, a statin class lipid-lowering agent, competitively inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, leading to decreased cholesterol biosynthesis and subsequent reduction in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. Clopidogrel, another antiplatelet agent, selectively inhibits the ADP receptor on platelet cell membranes, preventing activation of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex and thus inhibiting platelet aggregation. The synergistic effect of these three active ingredients makes Lipitab Gold effective in reducing the risk of atherothrombotic events such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and peripheral arterial disease in patients with established cardiovascular risk factors. It is indicated for secondary prevention in patients with acute coronary syndrome, recent myocardial infarction, or established peripheral arterial disease. The combination therapy should be used under medical supervision, considering potential contraindications such as bleeding disorders, hypersensitivity, and concurrent use of other anticoagulants. Regular monitoring of liver function, lipid profile, and hematological parameters is recommended during therapy.
