Aspirin acts as an antiplatelet agent by irreversibly inhibiting cyclooxygenase, thereby reducing thromboxane A2 production and preventing platelet aggregation. Atorvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively lowers low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides while modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), contributing to plaque stabilization and reduction of cardiovascular events. Clopidogrel, a thienopyridine antiplatelet agent, inhibits the ADP-mediated activation of the glycoprotein IIb/IIIa complex, further preventing platelet aggregation.
