Atorvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, effectively reduces low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglycerides while modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), thereby aiding in the prevention of atherosclerosis and related complications. Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, inhibits adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet aggregation by irreversibly binding to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, reducing the risk of thrombotic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke.
