Clopidogrel, an antiplatelet agent, inhibits adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet aggregation by irreversibly binding to the P2Y12 receptor on platelets, reducing the risk of thrombotic events such as myocardial infarction and stroke. The combined effect of lipid-lowering and platelet inhibition makes Lipitab CV suitable for patients with established coronary artery disease, recent acute coronary syndrome, or those at high risk of cardiovascular events.
It is essential to administer the capsule orally once daily, preferably at the same time each day, with or without food. Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment, bleeding disorders, or those on concurrent anticoagulant therapy.
