Lipi EZ 10 Tablet contains a combination of Atorvastatin 10 mg and Ezetimibe 10 mg, formulated to effectively manage hyperlipidemia and reduce elevated cholesterol levels. Atorvastatin, a member of the statin class, functions by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a key enzyme involved in cholesterol biosynthesis in the liver, thereby lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), total cholesterol, and triglycerides while modestly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Ezetimibe acts by selectively inhibiting the absorption of cholesterol at the intestinal brush border, further decreasing the amount of cholesterol delivered to the liver. The combined action of these agents provides a complementary mechanism to achieve superior lipid-lowering effects compared to monotherapy. Lipi EZ 10 is indicated for patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia who require additional LDL-C reduction despite dietary modification and monotherapy.
