Linpan Tablet contains Pantoprazole 40 mg, a proton pump inhibitor used to reduce gastric acid secretion. It is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid production. Pantoprazole works by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing the final step in acid production. This leads to a significant and prolonged reduction in gastric acid secretion, promoting healing of acid-related damage and alleviating symptoms such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and epigastric pain. Linpan Tablet is typically administered orally, once daily, preferably before a meal. Dosage and duration of therapy depend on the specific condition being treated and patient response. It is generally well tolerated; however, potential side effects include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and rare hypersensitivity reactions. Caution is advised in patients with liver impairment or those on concomitant medications metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Pantoprazole should not be used concomitantly with drugs requiring an acidic gastric environment for absorption. Patients are advised to follow prescribed dosing and consult healthcare providers if symptoms persist or worsen.
