Clindamycin, a lincosamide antibiotic, exerts bacteriostatic action by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively targeting anaerobic bacteria commonly implicated in bacterial vaginosis. Clotrimazole, an imidazole antifungal agent, disrupts fungal cell membrane synthesis by inhibiting ergosterol production, thereby treating candidal infections. Tinidazole, a nitroimidazole antiprotozoal agent, is effective against protozoal pathogens such as Trichomonas vaginalis by causing DNA strand breakage and inhibiting nucleic acid synthesis. The combined action of these agents provides broad-spectrum coverage against polymicrobial infections of the female lower genital tract. Limpia V Softgel Capsule is indicated for the management of bacterial vaginosis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and trichomoniasis, either as monotherapy or in mixed infections.
