Licotar 100 Tablet contains Lacosamide 100 mg, an antiepileptic agent indicated for the treatment of partial-onset seizures in patients with epilepsy. Lacosamide acts by selectively enhancing slow inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels, stabilizing hyperexcitable neuronal membranes, and inhibiting repetitive neuronal firing without affecting normal neuronal excitability.

This mechanism contributes to its efficacy in reducing seizure frequency and improving seizure control. Licotar 100 is typically administered as adjunctive therapy in adults and pediatric patients aged four years and older. The tablet should be taken orally, with or without food, and dosing is individualized based on clinical response and tolerability. Common adverse effects include dizziness, headache, nausea, and fatigue, which are generally mild to moderate in intensity.
Caution is advised in patients with cardiac conduction abnormalities, as Lacosamide may prolong PR interval. Regular monitoring of cardiac function is recommended in at-risk populations. Licotar 100 should be used under strict medical supervision, and patients should be advised not to discontinue therapy abruptly to avoid potential seizure exacerbation. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Lacosamide or any excipients.
